Louisa Man Dies in Crash Monday Morning

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office are looking into a fatal crash that happened Monday morning.  According to a news release, Sheriff Garrett Roberts said 82-year-old Louisa native, James Marcum, died after his car crashed into a tree-trimming truck.  The crash happened on Route 3 and left traffic at a standstill. A flagger was working in that area but Marcum did not stop and crashed into the truck.

Wife Arrested in Huntington Murder

HUNTINGTON, WV (WOWK) - Huntington Police detectives have arrested a woman with murder in connection to the stabbing death of her husband. According to a release, arrested Tuesday evening is 48-year-old Jennifer Lynn Via, of Huntington. Via has been charged with murder in connection to the stabbing death of her husband, Thomas Via. The murder took place on November 4th at the couple's residence at 952 28th Street in Huntington. Huntington Police continues to investigate the crime.

RIPLEY, WV (WOWK) - One person was airlifted to the hospital after a vehicle struck a tree. According to a release from Ripley Fire and Rescue, the accident took place on US-33 not far from the Roane-Jackson Technical Center near the Jackson/Roane County border in Jackson County. The driver left the roadway and struck a tree head-on. The driver had to be cut from the vehicle and was then airlifted from the scene. Ripley Fire, along with Roane County fire units responded to the scene.
