Video of Mason principal 'dragging' student off bus goes public

"Zach come here," said Cameron Moffett, principal of Point Pleasant Intermediate School in the video from the school bus.

Students were getting ready for a field trip, and for some reason Moffett had to go to the back of the bus to tend to a student.

After some screaming by the boy, Moffett is then seen on the video dragging Zachary Plants out of the school bus

"I'm sorry.  I'm sorry," screamed Plants

The video is now the talk of Point Pleasant.

"I think it was really appauling how the principal took the little kid and rolled him down the steps and you could hear him screaming help me," said Tammy Baker of Point Pleasant.

"I think it's horrible he shouldn't have done that.  The little boy was even saying he was sorry," said Lisa Baker of Point Pleasant.

Mason County School Board member Tom Nunnery said Moffett has been relieved from his duties as principal and placed at the school's maintenance department until his legal issues are resolved.  Moffett's preliminary hearing is next week. Earlier this month he turned himself in to Point Pleasant Police who have charged him with felony child abuse.  He is free on a $20,000 bond.  That's only part of his legal troubles.  The family of Zachary Plants has also filed a federal lawsuit against Moffett and the Mason County Board of Education.

"He should have called the parents first before he touched the little boy," said Baker.
