UPDATE: Glasgow bank robbery suspect arrested

A woman has been arrested in connection with a robbery at the City National Bank in Glasgow Friday afternoon. 

According to the Glasgow Police Chief, Jennifer Lee Garretson, 37, of Belle was arrested in Shrewsbury over the weekend.

She has been charged with one count armed robbery.

Her husband, Gary Garretson, was also arrested.  He has been charged with accessory after the fact.

Both are in the South Central Regional Jail.

Jennifer's bail has been set at $100,000.  Gary's bail has been set at $50,000.



According to the West Virginia State Police, the woman did get away with an unknown amount of money.

The police are looking for the woman in the Beckley, Clay County area and are also looking for a white SUV.

According to police on the scene they are unsure of the make and model of the SUV used.




Police say the woman walked into the City National branch in Glasgow and handed the teller a note demanding money.



An attempted bank robbery was reported in Glasgow this afternoon.

According to dispatchers a white female, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds left the bank on foot.

The woman was wearing a white jean jacket with pink trim, jeans, and a black hat.

The woman entered a white SUV with three other females inside.
