Peter Lizon not indicted by grand jury

Posted: Updated:

Peter Lizon, the Jackson County man accused of keeping his wife captive and abusing her for ten years, was not indicted by the grand jury today.

According to the Jackson County Clerk's Office, Peter Lizon, of Miller Hollow Road, Leroy, will remain out on bond until he either violates the bond or something happens in the case.

The next grand jury that could indict him does not meet until February of next year.

His wife, Stephanie Lizon, had stayed at the Family Crisis Intervention Center in Parkersburg in June. While at the shelter, Stephanie Lizon told Jacklyn Adkins that her husband had kept her chained with metal padlocks and chains for about 10 years.

Lizon further told Adkins that her husband referred to her as his slave and she had to kneel down before him when he entered the room, the complaint states.

Lizon also told Adkins that her husband once struck her in the stomach while pregnant, causing a miscarriage, the complaint states. She also said that her 1-year-old son was delivered by her husband while she was chained to a bed.
