UPDATE: Man sentenced in Huntington murder case

According to the Cabell County Circuit Court, Thomas White was sentenced Wednesday afternoon of April 23 on two counts of first degree murder.

White will serve life with mercy on both counts.

A court date was set for June 13 in front of Judge Paul Farrell to decide whether or not White will serve these sentences consecutively or concurrently.


The Huntington Police Department has arrested a second suspect.

Thomas M. White, 21, of Huntington and charged him with two counts of felony murder. White has been hospitalized since Nov. 6, 2012 for treatment of a gunshot wound.

A second victim has died, nearly a week after being shot in Huntington.

Huntington Police Chief Skip Holbrook said that Devonte Penn died Sunday, Nov. 11 in the hospital from a single gunshot wound he received on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at a home in the 1900 block of Foster Avenue.

Penn, 17, was from Detroit, Michigan.

Darrell Fuqua, 22, also of Detroit, Michigan, was also shot and killed during the incident and another man, 21-year-old Thomas White, was injured.

Detectives have charged Rocky Hudson Williams, 19, of Huntington with one count of Felony Murder and Charity Dawn Cornell, 35, has been charged with maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of allowing the use or sale of drugs. Cornell is the resident of 1839 Foster Avenue.

The case is still under investigation.
