DHHR received more than $150,000 for rape prevention and education
The West Virginia State Department of Health and Human Resources has received more than $150,000 in federal funding to continue the Rape Prevention and Education program, according to a news release from Senators Jay Rockefeller and Joe Manchin.
The RPE program awards grants to states to strengthen sexual violence prevention efforts.
The money help implement and evaluate prevention programs in rape crisis centers, sexual assault coalitions, state departments of health, and other nonprofit organizations, according to the release.
RPE is funded by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention's National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
