Parents are on edge at an area middle school after a student suggested on Facebook that he was going to bring a gun to school.
It was business as usual at the school on Friday.
The post was made Wednesday and it sparked comments from several other students, who asked the poster when he was going to bring the gun to school and what he was going to do with it. It was unclear if the picture posted by the student was of a real gun or a BB-gun.
"Makes you not want to send your kid to school," said Teresa Bradley, a parent.
"You've heard about children shooting up schools and what not... you need to be cautious," said Yolanda Wilcox, a grandparent.
Kanawha County Superintendent of Schools Ron Duerring says students and parents contacted school officials and Dunbar Police on Wednesday about the post; the post has since been deleted.
Duerring says the student has been dealt with using county polices, but would not elaborate on how the student may have been punished. School resource officers were at the school on Friday, as they normally would be.
