Posted: Updated:

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Amber Farmer has been found.

Farmer was found in the woods with her dog and a suitcase.

According to the police, Farmer had a fight with her parents that evening, but before leaving her family's home.

Lawrence County Sheriff's Department, Ironton Police Department, and other local authorities are searching for a 14-year-old girl reported missing from her Lawrence Street home in Ironton.

Police say Amber Farmer, 14, was last seen around 4 p.m. Wednesday behind Storms Creek Apartments. She is described as a white female about 5ft, 110lbs, with brown hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink hat, carrying a yellow backpack and her dog on a leash.

The search began just before 9 p.m. and has continued throughout the night.

Officers interviewed neighbors who saw the little girl walking into a nearby wooded area. Huntington Police Department provided a bloodhound to track the missing girl thru a wooded area adjacent to the apartment complex but then lost her scent.

Ironton police do not suspect foul play, but are concerned for her safety in these cold temperatures.

Anyone who may have any information in relation to this incident or knows the whereabouts of Amber is asked to call the Ironton Police Department detectives section at 740-532-5606 or the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office at 740-532-3525.
