Man gets prison time for violating federal sex offender registration law
A Kanawha County man was sentenced to one year and three months in federal prison for failing to update his sex offender registration as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
Christopher Cadle, 28 of Cross Lanes, previously pleaded guilty in September.
In 2004, Cadle was convicted of third degree sexual abuse.
He moved to North Carolina for a brief time and registered as a sex offender there.
When he moved back to Kanawha County, he did not update his information, authorities said.
Cadle was also sentenced to 10 years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence.
