West Virginia State Police are investigating a break-in and assault in Ivydale, W. Va.

According to state police, the victim, Randle Lambey, 49, was asleep with his girlfriend at home on Moore Fork Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when the suspects broke in.

Police say Shane Steven Holbrook, 24, and a 17-year-old juvenile busted the door open and woke Lambey with a crack to his head with a crowbar. Lambey said the suspects were his girlfriend's sons.

The suspects cut his phone lines and disconnected his power before dragging him into the kitchen and tying him to a chair. They beat him all over his body and fired guns at close range, according to police. The assault continued for almost eight hours.

According to Lambey, the suspects forced their mother into their car and left just before 8 a.m.

Police were called to the residence shortly after 8 a.m. A BOLO was put out on the suspects' vehicle. Troopers say they appeared to be under the influence of an illegal substance when they were caught at a traffic stop in Putnam County.

They are facing charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, conspiracy, and several other felony charges. The juvenile had warrants out for him in Florida.
