Two local projects have received Transportation Enhancement Grant funds from Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, according to a news release.
Representatives from the Putnam County Parks and Recreation received $65,000 for the Hometown Park/Valley Park Scenic By-Way Improvements 2012 project.
The money will go towards improving the existing road-side park in Hometown.
Additional lighting will also be added to improve security.
Representatives from Spencer received $120,978 for the Spencer Streetscape 2012 project.
The money will go towards new sidewalks with street lighting and crosswalks along Route 33.
