Another national group weighs in on "Jackson County Jesus" controversy
The Liberty Institute, a Christian conservative legal web site is responding to demands to take down a portrait of Jesus from a Jackson County, Ohio middle school.
The school district has retained an attorney from the Liberty Counsel on a pro bono basis.
"It is reasonable and appropriate for the school district to consider the overall context, purpose, and history of the 'Hall of Honor' display and not to take any premature actions, such as removing the portrait or succumbing to legal threats," said Hiram Sasser, Director of Litigation for Liberty Institute.
Liberty Institute attorneys will review the legal letters sent from the American Civil Liberties Union, among others. They will present a recommendation to the school district on March 20.
