The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation is continuing to review what happened Saturday evening in Quick. They are not releasing many new details at this time.
Sunday they released the name of the suspect who was killed during the shooting.
Lawrence Edward "Pete" Vaughn was shot and killed during the incident. He was in his late 40's. Investigators say he was living at the home at 6154 Quick Road with his mother. That is the address where the shooting occurred.
Family members said Vaughn's mother is in her 70's. They say she is fine. Family members were at the house Sunday cleaning up the porch and repairing shattered glass on the front door.
According to a press release sent from the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, the man killed by deputies in a shootout in Quick had been violent with his mother in the past.
The Kanawha Bureau of Investigation is processing the scene and working with members of the Prosecuting Attorney's Office to investigate the incident.
The names of the involved are not being released at this time.
Dispatchers say Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies are on-scene of a shooting near Quick, W. Va. that came after a disturbance call on the 6100 block of Quick Road.
Police say a male suspect got into a domestic dispute with his mother at the home.
His mother was able to notify a neighbor, who called the police.
While deputies were trying to approach the house, the male suspect came out and started firing at officers with a handgun.
Deputies returned fire and the suspect was killed.
