A Mingo County program known as Operation Zero Tolerance resulted in 52 sealed felony drug indictments in less than three days, according to C. Michael Sparks, the prosecuting attorney for Mingo County.
The grand jury returned 61 felony indictments overall, and arraignments will take place on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.
"Eugene Crum has exceeded my highest expectations as Mingo County Drug Enforcement Investigator [August 2012 - December 2012] and now as Mingo County Sheriff," stated Sparks in a press release. "Sheriff Crum's leadership and dedication to drug enforcement has provided a game changing boost to our drug enforcement program."
Sparks also commended Mingo County Sheriff's Department Drug Task Force Commander C. D. Rockel for assisting in the operation.
In 2012, the prosecutor's office saw the third highest number of felony convictions in Mingo County history, according to Sparks.
