WV Farm Bureau continues 'Food Check Out Week' events in Charleston
An organization committed to helping those in need got a helping hand of its own on Friday.
The West Virginia Farm Bureau paid a visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Kanawha City to deliver several thousands of dollars in food to the charity. It's done as part of National Food Check Out Week, a way to show that farmers and ranchers are committed to producing safe, abundant and healthy food.
Organizers said it's an important message from growers right here in our area. "Where we are farmers actually growing the product. We want to give back to the community with the actual food so we can help everyone," said John R. Pitsenbarger, Vice President of the West Virginia Farm Bureau.
A similar event was held on Thursday in Huntington, and another was planned for Saturday in Morgantown.
