A rock slide has blocked both lanes of northbound Interstate 77 near the Virginia border.
The slide covered both north lanes Wednesday afternoon in Mercer County between Bluefield and Princeton.
The West Virginia Division of Highways said the north lanes will be closed throughout Wednesday night as work continues to clear the road.
Northbound interstate traffic is being rerouted onto U.S. Route 460 to Princeton, where it reconnects with I-77. Southbound lanes remain open.
