Nanci Bross-Fregonara has been appointed to the position of full-time writer and graphic designer for Davis & Elkins College.
Bross-Fregonara has been a part-time member of the college's Communications & Marketing Office since February 2012.
Bross-Fregonara provides both writing and design support for all college communications, including press releases and print publications.
Her prior background includes work as publication designer/writer for Davis Health System, the Randolph County Community Arts Center and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, where she worked as a designer and assistant editor of West Virginia Wildlife magazine.
Bross-Fregonara earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She also has worked as a photographer for the Frederick News-Post in Frederick, Md., and as editor and publisher of the Allegany Journal, a weekly newspaper serving Frostburg, Md., and the surrounding region.
She later served as director of news and information at Frostburg State University before moving to the Elkins area. She has won several press awards for editorial writing and photojournalism.
Bross-Fregonara is part of D&E's five-member communications and marketing office, which manages all college marketing initiatives, including the college website, news and information, social media, online promotions, advertising and print publications.
Bross-Fregonara serves on Elkins City Council as the Fourth Ward representative. She first was elected to office in 2009.
