New robotics training program offered at Robert C. Byrd Institute
The manufacturing sector is always changing and workers will need a new set of skills to thrive in the future. That's the idea behind a new robotics training program now being offered by the Robert C. Byrd Institute for Advanced Flexible Manufacturing.
Rep. Shelley Moore Capito, R-W.Va., and other company leaders were on hand Tuesday morning to unveil the program.
Supporters believe it will help improve job prospects, and help companies compete internationally. "There are a lot of very good jobs that are highly skilled, that are going to be the jobs of the manufacturing future, and I think that's what the RCBI program is about," said Capito.
Managers from Gestamp and Toyota Manufacturing also attended. They agreed that skills like those demonstrated through this training program will be necessary to get automotive jobs in the future.
