Suspect captured after shooting in Portsmouth OH; woman recovering from injuries

A late-night interstate chase led to the arrest of a man accused of shooting a Scioto County woman.
Scott Andrew Wilson, 22, of Ft. Bragg, N.C., is charged with with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance in the first degree.
Portsmouth City Police said Wilson was in an altercation with a woman Tuesday evening in Sciotoville when a gun went off and injured the woman. Officers say she suffered physical injuries.
After the shooting, Wilson left the area going into Greenup County where deputies caught him on the Industrial Parkway at 9:30 p.m.
Wilson is currently in the Greenup County Detention Center.

A man was captured by police in Greenup County, Kentucky after a shooting in Portsmouth, Ohio and a multi-state chase on Tuesday night.
Portsmouth City Police said Scott Andrew Wilson became a wanted man after a gun went off during an altercation in Sciotoville, where a woman was shot and suffered minor injuries.
Police said Wilson fled the scene, crossing the Greenup Bridge into Kentucky.
There, Greenup County Sheriff's deputies caught up with Wilson on the Industrial Parkway at about 9:30 p.m.
There was no word Tuesday night about the specific charges Wilson was facing.
