Alissa Novoselick has been hired as Carnegie Hall's director of development.

Carnegie Hall officials say Novoselick, whose passion for the arts stems to an adolescence filled with piano, cello, trumpet, choir and theater, has strengths including organizational development.

Novoselick earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan in English and then moved to rural Arizona where she became an award-winning high school teacher.

She earned her master's in business administration from Antioch University New England, where her studies focused on nonprofit finance and organizational sustainability.

She moved to Lewisburg to work as the business and grants director at the Family Refuge Center, which offers domestic violence help in Greenbrier, Pocahontas and Monroe counties. At the center, she evaluated the financial health of the organization and developed funds.
