The University of Charleston has hired Danny Meadows as its new director of international programs. He will begin his duties immediately.
As part of leading international programs at UC, Meadows will oversee the university's new Summer Intensive English Program, which runs July 8-Aug 16 in Charleston. The six-week course will provide 120 hours of English instruction to traditional and adult students and, after successful completion, will grant students admission into UC beginning this fall if they so choose.
A native of Fayetteville, Meadows holds a bachelor's in French from Marshall University and master's degrees from Kent State University in teaching ESL and in French. He has taught ESL at Marshall, Georgia Perimeter College and Gordon College in Barnesville, Ga., among other places, in addition to teaching English abroad in Tunisia. He most recently served as assistant director of the English Department at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in San Antonio, Texas.
