Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelley announced via social media the python which was loose in a trailer park was found in the insulation under the trailer of the woman who released it.
The Athens county Sheriff's department is investigating a loose Ball python in a mobile home park.
A family member of the owners of the Sandstone Mobile home park says the snake belonged to the daughter of one of the residents and when she packed up and left her mother to care for it, the woman said she couldn't and turned it loose.
She says the snake is supposedly docile and will curl up in a ball to protect itself when threatened and is not considered a threat to people.
She goes on to say members of the Athens County Sheriff's Department were investigating and had contacted reptile experts from Hocking College to help locate the snake.
The woman says some of the more than 40 residents were concerned at first, until they were told the snake is not dangerous.
She says she has a small dog and isn't afraid to take it outside.
The snake has been on the loose since Sunday and so far, no one has found it.
