Fairview: July 4, 10 p.m., celebrations of "Remembering Our Hometown Heritage," including at 5K run, 10 a.m. parade and concerts, games, hobbies and crafts

Louisville, Ky.: July 4, 10 p.m. at the Waterfront Independence Festival, following music at 8:30 p.m. from Kool and the Gang, and includes plenty of family fun, including fun and games with DJ Randy & Crew, Ninja Monkeys from Jimmy's Music Center Rock School, demonstrations presented by the Kentucky Science Center, Uncommon Sense from Jimmy's Music Center Rock School, Fenderella from Jimmy's Music Center Rock School and an activities tent where children can "test your bubble making skills, harness the power of water as you create your own water wall. Even tickle your senses as we test the power of magnets and dig into mysterious matter" 

Mannington: July 4, 10 p.m., with 3 p.m. parade, entertainment for kids from 4-6 p.m. and music by LME from 5-7 p.m. and by Ryan Cain and the Ables band from 7:30-9:30 p.m., all on Main Street
