WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) - Police in Winchester say they have charged a man with manslaughter after he threw a punch that allegedly led to the death of another man.
Police Capt. James Hall told The Winchester Sun that charges against 35-year-old Demetrious Morton were upgraded from assault after 51-year-old David Bailey was removed from life-support after the June 22 incident.
Hall said Morton told police he hit Bailey once in the face and Bailey fell backward onto the sidewalk.
It wasn't immediately clear whether Morton had an attorney.
Police said the case is being sent to the Clark County grand jury.
