UPDATE: Man turns himself in; wife called 911 after he fled from deputies in west Belle

A suspect who fled after an early morning pursuit turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday evening.

Edward Mullins turned himself in at the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office at 7 p.m.  He's charged with fleeing in a vehicle, fleeing on foot, going left of the center line, obstructing an officer, and driving with a suspended license.



An attempted traffic stop by Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies turned into a pursuit in west Belle.

The call for the pursuit came in shortly after midnight on Tuesday.  

Deputies say a man fled from them after they tried to pull him over on Route 60 in Belle.

West Virginia State Police also responded to the scene.  

Edward Mullins crashed his car into a family's yard after realizing he turned on a dead end road.  That road was West 33rd Street.  Mullins escaped and police are searching for him.

Dispatchers say his wife called 911 and identified the man as Edward Mullins.  

He is described at as a heavy set, white male.  Deputies said he was wearing all black at the time of the per suit.
