    The West Virginia Autism Training Center is expanding its reach in the state. WV ATC, located at Marshall University in Huntington, has partnered with Concord University to develop on-campus support in Athens for students who are diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.

    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

    The West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence are getting help from Verizon's HopeLine program to help those affected by domestic violence and child abuse.

St. Albans High School will host the 4th annual Gold and Blue BBQ July 19 to benefit girls' athletics at the school.

The event, which is at 6 p.m., also will host special guest, Sam Huff, a West Virginia native who played professional football for the New York Giants and the Washington Redskins.

Huff, who is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and NFL Hall of Fame, played football at West Virginia University, where his number is now retired.

Da'Sean Butler, Bo Orlando, Grant Wiley, Rasheed Marshall, Brian Jozwiak, Terry Dixon, David Upchurch, Mark Plants and a few surprise guests also will attend.

The Gold and Blue BBQ is an annual fundraiser presented by The Sugar Bowl Foundation and presented by Ponderosa Industries.

Tickets, which are $35, may be purchased from members of the girls' teams and also online at sugarbowlfoundation.org.
