The Putnam Farmers' Market is catering to young green thumbs. It's hosting a Kids Day event August 3.
The theme will be "Get Outdoors, Eat Healthy and Have Fun!" West Virginia State University's Extension Service is going to be on hand, doing a book reading and a cooking demonstration. A registered Dietician will be handing out healthy camping recipes for the parents and doing an interaction on hand washing hygiene. The kids will have the opportunity to use a glow box that detects germs.
Experts will be available to give ideas for cookouts and camping. There will also be live entertainment and a variety of produce, baked goods, jewelry and eggs for sale.
The Putnam County Farmers' Market is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Kids Day activities begin at 11 a.m.
