According to the West Virginia State Police, the driver of the vehicle was Dustin Burkhardt and police expect to file charges against him.
The other passengers in the vehicle were 16, 17 and 18-years-old and all suffered injuries. The 18-year-old was identified as Casey Allman.
The crash also ended in the death of 16-year-old Colin Qualls.
A car carrying five teenagers has crashed in Kanawha County, killing one and injuring four others.
Dispatchers with Metro 911 received the call of a single vehicle accident on Hughes Creek Road around midnight Friday.
According to dispatchers, the car lost control, left the road and drove through a fence, and came to rest in the yard of a home at 5211 Hughes Creek Road.
Emergency crews report a couple of the survivors were initially trapped in the wreckage.
Alcohol is said to be a factor in the crash. Four of the victims are underage, while the fifth is 18-years-old.
Firefighters say the teen that died was 16-year-old Colin Qualls. He was sitting behind the driver of the car.
All five are students at Riverside High School.
