Vandalized Braxton County school buses on track to be repaired for start of school year

Vandalized buses in Braxton County are on pace to be ready for the start of school.

A majority of windshields have been fixed, but they are still working on the side windows. The repairs are on schedule and they hope to have all buses repaired by Aug. 19 when school starts.

If repairs are not finished, Nicholas and Webster counties have offered to help out.

In June, more than 30 buses were vandalized. The damage was estimated at about $100,000.

West Virginia State Police are investigating. Troopers said two juveniles confessed to the crime. They were questioned, then released to their parents. Both are facing multiple charges including felony destruction of property, conspiracy and attempting to commit a felony.
