A man and a woman were taken to jail after officers say they were dealing drugs out of a local motel.
Courtney S. Oney, 23, and Russell D. Nickell, 43, both of Ashland, are charged with felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, according to court documents. Officers with the C.U.F.F.E.D. Task Force, went to a motel on 16th Street Road in Huntington Aug. 1 to serve a federal warrant on Nickell.
Once officers were in the motel room, they say they noticed several bags of a white powdery substance on the bed. The substance in the bags tested positive for synthetic cocaine. Officers say there were five separate bags weighing a total of 200 grams. Officers also found aluminum foil, digital scales and many small baggies.
Oney and Nickell were taken to the Western Regional Jail. If convicted, both are facing up to 15 years in prison. Oney's bail was set at $100,000.
