Tim Carrico showed an unquenchable thirst for the news from a very early age. Tim has worked with West Virginia Media Holdings for more than 10-years. He was the youngest employee to ever work in the company, beginning at the ripe old age of 10-years-old.
Tim is currently the main weekend anchor at WOWK-TV.
Tim has covered four presidential visits, the Upper Big Branch Mine explosion in April 2010, two gubernatorial inaugurations, and The Greenbrier Classic. He has interviewed many notables including: Tim Tebow, Astronaut John McBride, Tiger Woods, Shaquille O'Neal, Arnold Palmer, Tom Brokaw, Herman Boone, President Bill Clinton, and Senator Robert C. Byrd.
In 2003 and 2004, before Tim joined the 13News team, he worked as an anchor and reporter for West Virginia Media's Emmy Award winning newscast, ‘Kidz Newz.' Airing statewide on a weekly basis, he anchored shows from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and accomplished his first live-shot, in front of the camera, at age 10 on Bridge Day from the New River Gorge Bridge. Tim applied for and was accepted as an intern for WVNS-TV 59News in July 2008. In August 2009 he became a part-time photojournalist, director and reporter. From 2010-2012, Tim worked as the lead weekend anchor, producer, and main weekday fill-in anchor for both CBS 59 and FOX 59 in Beckley, WV.
Tim is a Beckley, W.Va. native. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School as Vice-President of the senior class. He is working on a Broadcast Journalism degree and a minor in Political Science from Marshall University.
When he is not working, Tim enjoys spending time with his family and friends, editing and filming local weddings and special events, hunting, fishing and playing golf.
