Crews are investigating a fire that occurred in a house at 1526 Huron Terrace shortly before 6:30 a.m. Saturday in Charleston.
According to the Charleston Fire Department, when crews arrived at the scene, they found a fire in the living room area of the house.
The fire had burned out a portion of the floor area.
There was no one home at the time of the fire.
No injuries were reported.
There were no active utilities in the structure.
The house appears to be a rental property.
With a quick response by the first arriving fire crew, the fire was confined to the room of origin and some light damage in the basement area.
Sixteen fire personnel responded to the scene that included four engine companies, one ladder company, one Rescue Unit, one EMS unit, one Medical Supervisor and one Chief Officer.
The cause of the fire has been ruled undetermined and is under investigation.
Damage is estimated at $20,000.
