On the run for years, large-scale marijuana dealer, Moises Gamboa was arrested early Friday morning.
Gamboa, 48, of Huntington, was arrested in Rocky Point, Mexico by Mexican authorities with cooperation from American agencies. Gamboa was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2010 for selling more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana in the Huntington area.
Gamboa left the country before his indictment.
"Mr. Gamboa allegedly sold thousands of pounds of marijuana and collected millions of dollars in ill-gotten gains as a member of a notorious drug trafficking organization," says U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin.
Goodwin went on to thank the U.S. Marshals Service for helping put Gamboa "where he belongs," in a press release Friday morning. Gamboa will face extradition proceedings in Mexico, and will likely be returned to the Huntington area to face charges, according to Goodwin.
