Two Michigan men arrested on drug charges in Boyd County

The Boyd County Sheriff's Department Drug Task Force arrested two Michigan men after a controlled buy at the Ramada Inn in Catlettsburg around 6:30 PM Saturday.

According to a press release deputies purchased over two grams of heroin, and after the transaction took place deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop along US 23.

The suspect attempted to flee and in doing so the driver of the vehicle swerved at deputies to force them off the road. Deputies then administered a pit maneuver on the fleeing vehicle forcing them off the road. Deputes removed both suspects from the vehicle, and during a search found heroin and cash. 

Deputies arrested and charged Kevin M. Holmes of Detriot with trafficking a controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense heroin, fleeing  or evading police 1st degree, wanton endangerment, operating on an expired license. Also so arrested and charged was Adrian D. Ludaway of Detroit with complicity to traffic a controlled substance 1st degree heroin.

Holmes was also taken to a local Hospital for injuries and was later released. Both men are currently lodged in the Boyd County Detention Center. Addition arrests are pending.

The Boyd County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
