James Cummings, 41, of Roane County, WV is wanted after his ex-girlfriend told police he beat and sexually assaulted her.

Police say he forced his ex-girlfriend to stay at his home in the area of Looney Fork in Roane County from Aug. 30 until Sept. 4.  According to police, she and Cummings had an argument and before she could leave the home Cummings grabbed her by the hair and drug her through the house.  The criminal complaint also states Cummings kicked her in the head.

Police say that over the course of several days Cummings assaulted his ex-girlfriend.  The pair's daughter was also in the house.

According to police, Cummings at one point sexually assaulted his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill her and their daughter if she tried to escape.  She was able to escape, with her daughter, on Tuesday after Cummings momentarily left her side.  Her mother picked them up.
