CHARLESTON, WV -
One man is in custody after deputies say he helped another man break into a convenience store while dressed only in his underwear.
The theft happened about 5 a.m. Monday at the Go-Mart in Cross Lanes, WV.
Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies say Gay Washington, of Cross Lanes, had his wife call the Sheriff's Office Tuesday morning. They say she told deputies to meet them at their home so he could turn himself in.
Court documents say Washington acted as a lookout while another man, Tyler Williams, broke into the store and stole four bank bags. Washington can be seen in the store's surveillance video in his underwear, trying to get in the locked bathrooms while Williams is inside. Those documents also say that Washington helped the other suspect destroy the four bank bags.
Washington is being charged with breaking and entering other than an dwelling and accessory before the fact to breaking and entering. He's being held at the South Central Regional Jail on a $35,000 dollar bond.
Deputies are still searching for Tyler Williams. If you have any information on his whereabouts, you are asked to contact the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
