After a fight broke out in the parking lot following Capital High School's football game last weekend, several parents and students have expressed concerns about safety precautions in place at Laidley Field.
"Tonight we will have four police officers from the city of Charleston and they will be throughout the stadium," said Debbie Bailey, the secretary coordinator of services at Laidley Field. "We will also have Laidley Field staff present at all the entrances for crowd control."
Bailey says the staff will be watching out for both kids as well as adults. Many of the disputes in the past were minor scuffles between students. However, officials say they are always ready to call in additional officers as well as school administrators if needed.
