Several people were injured in a car accident in Logan County, WV Sunday about 1 p.m.
According to deputies with the Logan County Sheriff's Office, Michael Porter, 19, was driving north on US 119. Another driver, Vicky Adams, 55, of Chapmanville was trying to make a left hand turn on to US 119 from Convention Center Driver. According to police, she pulled into the path of Porter and the two cars collided.
Porter, who was driving the first vehicle, was injured in the accident. His mother Lora Porter and sister Latisha Porter were also in the car. They also suffered injuries in the accident. All three were taken to Logan Regional Medical Center to be treated. All three were later airlifted to another area hospital for additional treatment for their injuries.
Adams, the driver of the second vehicle, also suffered injuries as a result of the accident. Medical personnel initially transported her to Logan Regional Medical Center. Adams was later airlifted to a Charleston area hospital to be treated for her injuries.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation at this time.
