One man is behind bars and 500 marijuana plants have been seized after police executed a marijuana eradication in Scioto County, OH.
Agents with the Southern Ohio Task Force say 500 pot plants from various parts of Scioto County were found Monday, Sept. 16 during an aerial search. During the aerial search a man was spotted with one of the plants, later throwing it into the Scioto River, according to a recent news release.
Marion Stiers, 30, of Lucasville, was found and charged with having an outstanding warrant. He was taken to the Scioto County Jail.
Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware say tips from the public have led to some of the plants being seized. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation, the Special Response Team from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility and officers from the State of Ohio Division of Parks and Recreation all helped in the eradication.
