Man accused of kidnapping 6-year-old girl in Jackson, OH, indicted on 9 charges
Zachary Dunn, 30, was indicted on nine charges, including rape.
The man accused of kidnapping a 6-year-old girl, from Jackson, OH, was indicted on nine counts Thursday, including rape.
The Jackson County Grand Jury indicted Zachary Dunn, 30, on charges of kidnapping, abduction, rape, gross sexual imposition, and felonious assault.
The kidnapping charges highlighted that Dunn is a "sexually violent predator" and that he committed the crime with a sexual motivation, according to a press release from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine.
"This defendant grabbed the young victim from her home and terrorized her until she managed to get away," DeWine said. "The victim is a brave little girl, and we plan to do all we can to get justice."
The girl's father reported her missing on the morning of July 26. More than 14 hours later, the girl was found naked, bruised, and crying more than six miles from home, in Liberty Township.
Police arrested Dunn at his home just hours later. Dunn said he was innocent before his arraignment later that month.
