Greek Festival brings food, dancing and history to Huntington, WV

HUNTINGTON, WV -
The annual Greek Festival is happening in Huntington this weekend, Sept. 27, 28 and 29 Volunteers at St. George Greek Orthodox Church spent Thursday getting things ready for the big weekend.
The festival features Greek food, music and dancing. Organizers say it's a great way to show their Greek heritage. "It's a way for the community to be able to trace back their roots and to be able to show their heritage and do it with great pride," said Ron Smith from St. George Greek Orthodox Church. There is a gift shop which features an array of Grecian collectibles, t-shirts, cook books and religious items. Festival goers can also take a tour of St. George Greek Orthodox Church.
The festival hours are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The St. George Greek Orthodox Church is located at 701 11th Avenue in Huntington.
