Sissonville football opens 4-0 for the first time since 1994

SISSONVILLE, WV -
It's nearly been a decade since the Sissonville football team has opened the season 4-0. The last team to do so was the 1994 state runner up team. A member of that '94 team was all state running back Shane Cook, who has a son on this year's team.
"It's really surreal. It's surprising it's been this long and what's so ironic is my son is on the team," said Cook.
"It's crazy. He talks about it all the time," said Austin Cook.
Shane sees some parallels in the two teams.
"I've seen a lot of teams come and go but those winning teams they got that extra something, that's the similarity I see," said Shane Cook.
With the 4-0 start, The Indians have also seen chatter pick up among the community. At Buddy B's in Sissonville, store clerk, Linda Burford says that's true there.
"Yeah, there is. "Just knowing that everyone is behind them it seems like there is more people in the stands. I mean we want to go all that way," said Burford.
