You can join local law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency personnel as they help grant the wishes of children at the 2013 Guns N' Hoses 'Batting for Wishes' softball tournament. The teams are looking for people to cheer them on this Saturday, October 5.
The tournament is being held at Power Park in Charleston and all proceeds will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Opening ceremonies will begin on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. The first pitch is set for 9 a.m. Throughout the weekend, there will be activities and other events. They include a performance by Robbins N' Jones a on Saturday at 9 p.m. Both days will also feature concessions, door prizes, and inflatable bounce houses for children.
The championship game will be held on Sunday, October 6. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for students.
Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children, aged 2½ to 18, with life-threatening medical conditions.
