Anthony and Linda Hunter haven't seen their son in days. "If you know anything about where my son may be, just tell somebody so I can take him home," said Kareem Hunter's mother, Linda.
On Thursday, a felony murder warrant was issued for Kelsey Legg in connection with Hunter's disappearance. Charleston police went to Legg's apartment in Marmet on Wednesday. "Detectives found evidence of a violent crime," said Cpl. Brian Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office.
Court documents state that detectives interviewed Matthew Legg, Kelsey Legg's brother, Wednesday. In that interview, he told detectives that on Sept. 23 Kelsey Legg told him she lured Hunter to her apartment in Marmet so another man could put a bag over his head and take him out of the apartment.
Matthew Legg then told detectives that he heard an altercation inside and then saw two men carry a body outside and put it in a trunk of a car. Matthew Legg, according to the documents, told detectives the body was that of Kareem Hunter and that he was dead.
Detectives said they found blood inside of the apartment and on the ceiling. Witnesses told detectives that the apartment had been cleaned, the walls inside were painted, and the carpet had been replaced after that disturbance.
The Hunter family said they've been hoping for the best, and expecting the worst since their son has been gone, but the news that a murder warrant was issued was almost too much to handle. "I can't describe how I'm feeling," said Kareem's mother. "I'm hurt. I feel sick. Whatever I'm feeling I've never felt before."
Now police are searching for Legg. This family wants closure. They want Legg to turn herself in. They want one message to get out about their son.
Anthony Hunter, Kareem's father, said, "Each family has their faults and they go through what they go through, but at the end of the day, he's still my baby."
