West Virginia Division of Highways reopened both lanes of I-79 South just after 8:00 a.m. following a rockslide near Mink Shoals.
One lane is now open on Interstate 79 after an early morning rockslide near Mink Shoals, WV. WVDOH crews are out right now working to clean all of the debris.
The slide was reported around 6 a.m. Monday. Seven cars were also involved. No injures have been reported.
Delays are expected for the next hour.
Interstate 79 Southbound at Mile Marker 1 is shut down right now. According to Kanawha County emergency dispatchers this is due to a rockslide and multiple vehicle accident.
The accident happened at 6:20 a.m. Monday.
Pinch Volunteer Firefighters are asking drivers to avoid the area right now.
