Posted: Updated:

Ashland, KY police are investigating a burglary at a church on 29th street.

The South Ashland United Methodist church was broken into and robbed last Thursday night.

Chief Robert Ratliff says thieves stole music equipment and busted in office doors and stole a safe containing paperwork and money.  That safe was recovered by police.

The vandals also stole the church van and wrecked it into a pole behind the church leaving a huge dent and scratched paint on the driver's side.  Chief Ratliff says investigators are pursuing some leads and do have persons of interests at this time and expect charges to be filed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ashland Police Department.
