The West Virginia Fire Marshal's Office made an arrest Friday in an arson case out of Milton, WV.
According to a Milton Police officer who responded to the scene, Heather Elizabeth Meadows, 35, of Milton, was arrested late Friday night and has been charged with first degree arson.
Police say neighbors caught Meadows in the act when they saw her trying to light a screen window of a house on fire with a cigarette lighter in the area of Washington Avenue in Milton.
According to police, neighbors held her until units arrived on the scene to arrest her.
Meadows was arraigned shortly after midnight Saturday morning, and is being held in the Western Regional Jail.
Her bond has been set at $250,000.
Police say more arson charges may be pending.
