It's the time of the year when ghosts and goblins roam the streets. Your chances of spotting a few will go up in one Kanawha County community on Saturday, October 26. The South Charleston Chamber of Commerce will host Boo Bash at Little Creek Country Club. The Boo Bash begins at 7 p.m. This year's event is going to feature food and drinks, costume contests, disc jockey and dancing, silent auction, psychic and a photo booth.
All proceeds from Boo Bash will go to the South Charleston Chamber's Educational Foundation, which awards grants for school-wide and classroom projects in the South Charleston area. The Foundation also provides individual scholarships for post-secondary education. Last year, the Educational Foundation awarded more than $6,000 in grants and higher education scholarships to local schools and students. Some of the grants awarded this year have supported local schools' book clubs, social studies classes, robotics clubs and Garden to Table programs.
Participants will also have the opportunity to bid on silent auction items, including park hopper passes to Disney World; adventure packages including Timber Trek, whitewater rafting, tubing, and zip-lining; jewelry; getaway packages to Lakeview Resort & Spa, Canaan Valley Resort, Whitetail Ski Resort, 7 Springs and Mountaineer Casino & Resort.
Costumes are encouraged, but are optional. Tickets include food, wine and beer. Admission is limited to guests 21 and older. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Amanda Ream, Executive Director, South Charleston Chamber of Commerce, at 304-744-0051 or visit the web site.
