The bridge at the intersection of Greenbrier Street and Airport Road in Charleston will be replaced by the West Virginia Department of Transportation.

A temporary bridge has been installed in the same spot, but the traffic pattern leading up to the airport will be slightly different while the project is being completed.

Airport officials are advising anyone traveling to and from Yeager Airport to allow some extra time to arrive because of the construction.

"The replacement bridge project is an important and necessary infrastructure improvement by the WVDOT," Yeager Airport Director Rick Atkinson said. "During the construction, there will be temporary travel impacts, and we appreciate the understanding and safe driving practices of the traveling public while the project is being completed."

Atkinson said the airport will issue another advisory when the project is completed.
