HUNTINGTON, WV -
For the first time in school history, Marshall had three running backs go over 100 yards in a single game as they dashed by UAB, 56-14. Stewart Butler's 139 yards, Essray Taliaferro's 118 and Kevin Grooms' 110 were the backs to go over the century mark.
Rakeem Cato also set a new mark. His first quarter touchdown pass to Eric Frohnapfel was Cato's 27th straight game with a touchdown pass. He breaks Chad Pennington's mark of 26 straight games.
Marshall also became bowl eligible with their sixth win. It's a short week for the Thundering Herd as they are back in action Thursday against Tulsa.
